Volunteer OpportunitiesThis is just a sample of what is offered. We are always looking for new lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ministers for the Homebound, Altar Servers. Call the rectory with any questions! St. Vincent de Paul Society Our Lady Help of Christians' Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides financial, spiritual and pastoral support to anyone in our local community who asks and is truly needy. Requests for help, as well as assistance given, are treated confidentially. Help with food, a medical bill, a utility bill, or rent are some examples of the type of financial assistance we have given. Any one of our members may be contacted for assistance, to alert us of someone you know (including yourself) who may be in need. All assistance is treated confidentially. Our members are Children's Liturgy of the Word: On most Sundays during the school year we dismiss children from the 9:30 am mass for a special service in the parish hall where they listen to the same gospel with age appropriate language and a short homily. They rejoin the congregation before Communion. Social Action & Justice Commission: This active group meets monthly, collects food year round for others, coordinates the Christmas and Easter Giving Tree and plans an annual forum for the parish. New members welcome! Choir: Newcomers are always welcome to the Adult Choir. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings in the church. Contact Jim Barkovic for info. Youth & Children's Choir sings once a month at the 9:30 am mass. Call the rectory. Altar Society : Volunteer teams are assigned each week to set up and clean the altar after masses. This is a wonderful ministry for those short of time. Flower Ministry: Help is always needed to get flowers, make arrangements and keep them watered! Even if you have never done an arrangement before, you will be amazed at what is possible. Teams of volunteers rotate each weekend.
